Dream Big, But Start Small

I didn’t think I’d regret trying and failing. And I suspected I would always be haunted by a decision to not try at all.
— — Jeff Bezos — –

Jeff Bezos is an Entrepreneur and e-commerce pioneer. Born on January 12, 1964, in New Mexico.

As a child, Jeff Bezos showed an early interest in how things work, turning his parents’ garage into a laboratory and rigging electrical contraptions around his house.

During high school, he started his first business — Dream Institute which is an educational summer camp for fourth, fifth and sixth graders.

Bezos early love of computers and technology gave him the drive to study computer science and electrical engineering at Princeton University.

Upon graduation, he found work at several firms on Wall Street, including Fitel, Bankers Trust and the investment firm D.E. Shaw where he rose to the position of the company’s youngest vice president in 1990.

Bezos made a risky move by quitting his job in 1994 and relocated to Seattle where he moved into the nascent world of e-commerce. His main motive was the untapped potentials of the internet market by opening an online bookstore.

Today, his company (Amazon) is one of the leading giants of e-commerce shops in the world.

Bezos continued to diversify Amazon’s offerings with the sale of CDs and videos, clothes, electronics, toys and more through major l partnerships.

His successful entrepreneurial ventures have made him the richest man on the planet.

================================

Jeff Bezos’ journey sounds interesting. Right?

Know that he didn’t get there overnight. It was passion, hard work, and consistency that gave him that lift even when FAILURE was dining with him.

Behind every glory, there’s a story.

Every entrepreneur has good and bad stories to tell about their journey.

I know how it looks like because I’m there.

It’s not juicy at all, but it’s attainable.

The entrepreneurial journey made me understand the true meaning of “FAILURE” that John C. Maxwell talked about in his book titled:

“Failing Forward — Turning Mistakes Into Stepping Stones For Success.”

Every successful entrepreneur you see or have heard about didn’t let FAILURE to continue dining with them.
